Obituary of HYSLOP – Ruth Frances

1913 – 2010 Ruth Frances Hyslop (BA, B.Ed) died peacefully on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Wentworth Manor. Ruth was born on September 28, 1913 to Marion (nee Allen) and Benjamin Menzies Hanson. She grew up in Fredericton and St. Andrews New Brunswick. Ruth first arrived in Calgary in 1948, living in Calgary and Edmonton over the next sixty-two years. Her interests were many and included golf and music. Ruth received a B.A. from the University of New Brunswick in 1934 and a B.Ed. from the University of Alberta in 1977. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Craig, brother Horace Hanson, and son-in-law David Rogers. She is survived by daughter Hope, Marion (Gerry) Kaufman, Allen, Andrew (Barbara), and Mark (Margaret), sister-in-law Ruth Dash of Montreal, PQ, and cousin Betty Hyslop of St. Stephen, NB. She is survived by grandchildren Megan, Jenny, Tim, and Carla; great grandchildren Isabel and Loden and one due in November. Memorial Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Monday, November 1, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
