Obituary of Murray Peter COPPOLD

December 19, 1948 – Montreal, Quebec August 6, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta Murray, beloved husband of Rosemary Coppold of Calgary, passed away very suddenly on August 6, 2017 at the age of 68 years. Murray was born in Montreal, Quebec but moved to Calgary in the early 1970’s to pursue his career in the oil and gas industry. Apart from Murray’s extensive career in the oil and gas industry, he will be remembered for his many contributions to the Alberta Wilderness Association, Castle Crown Wilderness and in more recent years his dedicated work with The Burgess Shale Geoscience Foundation, in Field, BC but it is Murray’s love of the Rocky Mountains that will be his life-long legacy to all his family, near and far. It was where Murray tragically passed away in the peace, solitude and contentment of his beloved Wilderness. Murray is survived by his loving wife Rosemary; twin sons, Michael (Krystal) and Andrew, both of Calgary; and two very special granddaughters, Kylee (6) and McKenna (3). Murray is also survived by his family in Eastern Canada – two sisters, Janet Coppold of Kingston, Ontario and Jennifer McDonnell of Montreal, Quebec and numerous cousins, four nieces Jenni, Samantha, Erin and Laura and nephew, Michael. Murray was predeceased by his parents Leslie and Geraldine Coppold of Montreal. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
