Rigel Cole

Obituary of Rigel Cole

It is with profound shock and sadness we announce the tragic passing in Calgary of the beloved son of Dr. William (Bill) Cole and Catherine (Cathy) MacKay-Cole and loving older brother of Dylan Cole. Rigel was an adored grandchild of William (Bill) and Kathryn Cole of Cobourg, ON, and William (Bill) and Barbara MacKay of Richmond Hill, ON. He is also remembered by aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and team mates Rigel graduated from Sir Winston Churchill High School in June, 2006 and was to have attended the University of Calgary in Biological Sciences. He was an avid soccer player and dedicated team member of Hawkwood, Crowfoot and Blizzards Soccer Clubs. Rigel’s travels took him across the planet to Australia, France, Japan, Canada and the United States. His respectful, dependable, intelligent and caring character gained him the love and admiration of a large network of friends and team mates. Though short, Rigel’s life was made very full through the way he touched the lives of so many others. A Celebration of Rigel’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Saturday, August 19, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made in memory of Rigel, directly to a Trust Fund to be set up for the creation of a Sir Winston Churchill High School Award for the achievement in both sciences and soccer. In living memory of Rigel Cole, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES Chapel of the Bells, 2720 CENTRE STREET NORTH Telephone: (403) 276-2296.
