Obituary of Edwin Alvarez LIM

April 20, 1956 – Aparri, Cagayan August 28, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta Edwin Alvarez Lim, beloved husband of Loida Lim of Calgary, Alberta passed away on August 28, 2019 at the age of 63 years. Edwin was born in Aparri, Cagayan Philippines on April 20, 1956. In 2011, he moved to Calgary, Alberta to be with his wife, daughter, brother and close family members. Edwin graduated from the Mapua Institute of Technology with a degree in Civil Engineering. Edwin married Loida on February 2, 1981. Edwin accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of providing good education to his children making them successful in their chosen career. From working in Saudi Arabia as a computer analyst for more than 25 years, he successfully ventured another career as a software developer and established his own software development business here in Canada. Edwin had a passion for music and loved Pink Floyd, Eagles, Journey, Queen, Bon Jovi, Led Zeppelin, Blue October & Freddie Aguilar to name a few. He is often heard whistling and singing along his favorite songs. He will be most remembered for his funny jokes, selfless generosity, intelligent conversations, and most especially his unconditional love for family and friends. Besides his loving wife, Edwin is survived by two sons, Winston and Paul; his daughter, Bianca; two daughters-in law, Nina and Maritess and son-in-law JP; four grandchildren, Bea, Zion, Joaquin and Ethan. Edwin is also survived by his two brothers, Elmo and Gil and his sister, Emma; Sisters-in-laws, Liberty and Marie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
