Obituary of Harness MacPhail

It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Lisa. A deep love of family and friends was woven into her very soul. Lisa was born and raised in Oakville, ON and attended the University of Western Ontario and the University of Calgary. She was called to the Alberta Bar in 1995 and practiced law at McNiven, Kelly & O’Neil (later Miles-Davison). Lisa was the wonderful mother of Caitlin and Connor and the loving and loyal wife of Warren; dear daughter of Hazel and Fred Harness; and dear sister of Brad (Tania), Warren, Deborah, and Trevor (Alison), all of ON; special granddaughter of Foster MacPhail; much loved daughter-in-law of Delphine Blackhorse MacPhail, and Shirley and Clarence MacPhail of Calgary; dear sister-in-law of Karen (Greg) of Vancouver, BC, Cheryl (Dean) of Ottawa, ON, Vanessa (Grant) of Milford, NS, Kelly (Jason) of Cole Harbour, NS, Malcolm of Calgary, and Scott (Celeste) of Sexsmith, AB; dear auntie of Russell, Ryan, Devon, Keely, Ethan, Mathias, Peter, and Michael; dear niece of Audrey Longpre and Joan Charlton; and many aunts and uncles, and cousins; and extended family in Alberta and England. Lisa will also be missed by special aunt-in-law Judy and uncle-in-law Jerry Blackhorse. Lisa was predeceased by brother Russell; and her grandparents in England. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Thursday, August 18, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1307 – 14th Street S.W.) on Friday, August 19, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Home Care Palliative Team, Calgary Health Trust, 10101 Southport Rd. S.W., Calgary, AB T2W 3N2, in honour of the wonderful care Lisa received while at home. Should you wish to contribute to a Trust Fund for the education of Lisa’s children, Caitlin and Connor, cheques may be forwarded to the family. A special appreciation is extended from the family to the many friends, neighbours and school-moms that provided support, assistance and meals during this very trying time.
