Patrick Doyle

Obituary of Patrick Doyle

Patrick was born in Stoney Beach, SK, growing up on the prairies with his six siblings. This was undoubtedly where Pat acquired his sense of humour and quick wit. Upon his return from World War II, Pat ventured out to Penticton where he met the love of his life, Barbara, at a nurses dance. Pat retired in Calgary after working for twenty-five years for the City of Calgary in the Health Department. Sports were very important to Pat, especially horseshoes, winning many championships including Provincials. He will truly be missed walking around the community and the familiar sound of the clinking of his horseshoes. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and friend to anyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Patrick is survived by his children, son Dr. Shannon Doyle (Cam), their children Ryan and Megan; three lovely daughters and their families, Debbie Rothwell (Jim) and their children, Jeromy (Tammy) and sons Jett and Jaxon; Matheu (Rana) and their children Cassidy-Jaid and Kyra; Tyler (Zara); Sally McGregor (John) and daughters, Haley and Jordan; Kelly-Sue Devlin (Dan) and daughter Michael-Holly (Mike) and their sons, Traeland, Eason and Tristan, and daughter Taylor (Ryan). He is also survived by his eldest sister Aileen Donaldson, affectionately known as the “Nurse”. He was predeceased by his wife Barbara and infant son Brent. A special thanks to Madeline Glass for her genuine love and attention for Dad. “We will miss you Goags.” Funeral Services will be held at Parkdale United Church (2919 – 8th Avenue N.W.) on Thursday, December 23, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. with the Dr. Murray Laverty officiating. Graveside Service to follow in St. Joseph’s Section, Queen’s Park Cemetery. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
