Obituary of Glenn William Moffatt

December 11, 1938 – September 2, 2017 Glenn William Moffatt passed away in Calgary on September 2nd. He was born at the Calgary General Hospital in 1938 to parents Jim and Margaret. The family moved to Lethbridge for five years before returning to Calgary where Glenn lived most of his life. Glenn had a forty-two year career with Canada Safeway, starting out as a produce clerk in 1956 and working his way up to store manager, running eight stores in the Calgary area before retiring in 1998. He enjoyed retired life immensely, with a winter home in Yuma, Arizona and sunny days filled with golfing, day trips to Mexico and time well spent with family and friends. In 2012, he took the trip of a lifetime to Scotland and visited the family’s ancestral town of Moffat. He will be greatly missed by his loving family; his wife Sandra; children Glenn (Wanda), Michelle, Sheila (Dave) and Peggy Sue; grandchildren Danielle, Kimberly, Amy, Derek, Kristin, Grace, Mimi and Jace; his brother Garry and sister Joyce (Eric) and nieces and nephews in Calgary and Aldergrove, B.C. The family would like to thank Southwood Hospice and the many doctors that assisted him over the years with their care. At Glenn’s request, there will not be a formal service. In living memory of Glenn Moffatt, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary, AB Telephone: 403-256-9575.
