Obituary of Bernard BERG

January 8, 1935 – Humbolt, Saskatchewan August 23, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta Our dear father and grandfather passed away peacefully at the age of 82. Ben is survived by son Allen Berg (Erika), daughter Randi MacFarlane (Bruce), grandchildren Grace, Laura and Patrick MacFarlane, and Alexander Berg, all of Calgary, along with his sisters Katie, Lillian, and Viola of Aldergrove and Chilliwack BC, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Ben was predeceased by his loving wife Carol Berg, mother and father Katarina and Kornelius Berg, and brothers Jim and Harry. Ben received a BSc in Geophysics with double honours in math and physics at the University of British Columbia. He spent his life in Calgary as a geophysicist creating many notable companies in the oil and gas sector in Canada and the US, with subsidiaries in Spain, England and Australia. He was the founder of Digitech Seismic Processors, Co-founder of Veritas Seismic Processors and more recently Allen Berg Racing Schools. Ben was a pioneer, entrepreneur, son, brother, father, grandfather, investor, mentor, partner and friend to many. Thanks to his homecare specialists who devoted their time and energy during his last year: Susan, Linda, Noemi, Veronica, Allyza and Delphi, as well to Jaime for her continued support. Allen, Randi and their families would like to acknowledge and express their deepest and heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Southwood Hospice for their gentle care and attention to our father during his final weeks.
