Dorothy Pedersen, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at the age of 84.
Dorothy was born and grew up in Scotland. She and Neil immigrated to Canada with their three children in 1965. They enjoyed many happy years until Neil’s death in 1985. Dorothy then met and married Viggo Pedersen in 1987. They enjoyed many years of retirement together until Viggo’s passing in 2006.
Dorothy had a life-long love of music which she passed on to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. There was no family occasion that music wasn’t a part of. She had a great sense of humour and was a wonderful storyteller. In her retirement she discovered the joy of painting and shared her beautiful watercolours with all of her family. She also loved to travel and enjoyed many happy vacations with family.
Dorothy is survived by her children Eileen (Ken) Wylie, Ian (Helen) McKay, and Anne (Keith) Vanderzyde. Dorothy also leaves to cherish her memory nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She will also be lovingly remembered by her brother, Alan Graham.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husbands Neil McKay and Viggo Pedersen. She was also predeceased by her sister Jean Will and brother John “Buddy” Graham.
