Obituary of Michael SCONDRIANIS

December 16, 1954 – Platamonas, Greece September 12, 2015 – Calgary, Alberta It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mike Scondrianis. Mike passed peacefully September 12th at the Agape Hospice with his wife Nia by his side. Mike immigrated with his family, to Canada in 1971. Mike was always in the Hospitality industry, eventual owning several successful Restaurants in Stettler, Brooks and Calgary. He started his battle with the Big C in 1996 and fought valiantly and with great dignity, always with a smile and positive attitude. Mike has surpassed the longest recorded survivor of Brain Cancer. Unfortunately, this battle wasn’t Mikes to win. Besides his wife Ourania, Mike is survived by his two loving children, Apostolos and Maria-Angela. He his also survived by his brother, John and sister in law Kelly; his nieces and nephews, Apostolis (Megan and Yanni) Sophia, Clint Burnell (Natalie and Ellis) and Shantel Burnell as well as his nieces and nephews in Greece. Mike was predeceased by his sister, Via; his father, Apostolos and mother, Sophia. Relatives and friends are invited to prayers at Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. (1 Tarmac Crescent S.W.) Calgary on Sunday September 20, 2015 at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held at Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church (1 Tarmac Crescent S.W.) on Monday September 21, 2015 at 10:00 am. Graveside service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery, with a reception to follow at the Greek Church. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Our Family would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at the Agape Hospice and the Tom Baker Cancer Centre for all their dedication and hard work in caring for Mike.
