Obituary of Patricia Ann LAMONT (nee McCallum)

August 27, 1942 – Edmonton, AB

September 29, 2014 – Calgary, AB

It is with profound sadness we share the news of the passing of our dearly beloved wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend, Patricia Ann Lamont at the age of 72 years. Her never ending love for her family and circle of friends will be forever cherished. Lung cancer took her life after a courageous battle.

Born in Edmonton, AB on August 27, 1942 to Edna (nee Brown) and Malcolm McCallum, she was the oldest of three children. After graduating with a degree in social work from the University of Montana, she returned to Alberta to work for the Government of Alberta (Social Services – Social Worker) in Edmonton, High Prairie, Grande Prairie and Calgary.

Pat married Clarke Lamont, her beloved husband and friend of forty-eight years, January 15, 1966, in Edmonton before moving to High Prairie. Her dearly loved sons, Doug and Dave, who were born in 1969 and 1971, were the greatest joys of her life and for whom she was forever grateful. Doug brought Molly into the family and they gave her cherished grandsons, Nolan and Greyson Lamont and she loved them dearly!!! Her family loved her unconditionally and stood by her daily. Pat was lovingly embraced by her beloved sisters (both of Edmonton), Bonnie Parks (Gordon) and Beth Tutschek (Alex) who supported her through her illness. She loved her nieces and nephews, Jacqueline (Darrell) Curtis, Malcolm (Natalie) Parks, Greg Parks, Amanda (Casey) Charleson, Brad Tutschek (Cassidy), Monte Tutschek and Lauren (Nate) Carlson, who were very caring. Pat was forever grateful for the love and caring her friends gave her as they embraced her during her illness.

A member of the Junior League of Calgary, member of the University of Montana Alumni Board (Vice President), Panel Member Government of Alberta Appeal Secretariat, and many other volunteer positions too numerous to mention. Pat got great fulfillment in serving her community, particularly when including her children. She was creative and artistic, and enjoyed many hours in the artistic mode.
