Obituary of Gladys Leota RIEDEL

Gladys Leota Riedel passed away peacefully on Friday, October 11, 2019, at the age of 89 years.
Gladys was the eldest daughter born May 2, 1930 to parents, Gotthelf (Guy) and Martha (Piepke) Schneider. She was raised in Torrington, AB and attended Stuart Creek School. Gladys married Robert Theodore Riedel September 5, 1953 in Calgary, AB and had four children, Calvert (Shirley), twin daughters, Holly Robert (Jacques), Beverly Lutz and Robert (Sheila) Riedel. She worked part time as a pari mutuel seller at Stampede Park for over 30 years, she also held several office positions.
Gladys was predeceased by her mother in 1954, her father in 1968, her brother Kenneth in 1979, her sister Vera in 1995 and her brother Orvel in 2001. She also leaves to mourn two sisters, Jean and Joyce, twelve grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY, 5008 Elbow Drive SW on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. A private Graveside Ceremony to be held at a later date.
