Obituary of Herbert John STOLL

September 2, 1932 – Neudorf, Saskatchewan

October 11, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Herb Stoll on Friday, October 11th, 2019.  Herb died peacefully, with family at his side, at the Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary. 

Herb was one of nine children, born to a farming family in Neudorf, Saskatchewan. He worked within the investment advisory business of James Richardson and Sons, Limited (and related companies) for over forty-two years throughout Western Canada, settling in Calgary in 1981 and retiring in 1994. Throughout his career, he was extremely proud to serve with the Kinsmen and Rotary Clubs, and with the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation. In his retirement, he split his time between Calgary and Sun City West, Arizona and thoroughly enjoyed his family, friends and his golf, proudly shooting his age a number of times.  

Herb will be forever loved and remembered by his wife of sixty-two years, Susan, his son Garth, daughter-in-law Anne and grandson Christian. We have lost a gracious man, a true gentleman, a wonderful father/grandfather and someone who truly made the world a better place for those around him. He will be sorely missed.   

We would very sincerely like to thank the caregivers from Home Instead Senior Care and the doctors, nurses and staff at Rockyview General Hospital, who took such good care of him over the past few weeks. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta or Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, both causes that were very close to Herb’s heart.
