Obituary of Ruth Wilma PATTIE

1928 - 2019   

Ruth Pattie, beloved wife of Mitch Pattie of Calgary, AB passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the age of 91 years.

Ruth Wilma Salthammer was born the youngest of five children to her parents, Jacob and Ruth Salthammer (nee Easterbrooks) on January 23, 1928 on her great uncle's farm in the Lake Johnston municipality of Saskatchewan.  After attending Hilton School, she moved to Moose Jaw for grade eleven and a commercial course.  Ruth then worked at Woolworths, the Royal Bank and Eaton’s prior to marrying Mitch Pattie on November 12, 1949 and moving to Winnipeg, MB.  In 1961, the family, now including three children, moved to Calgary, AB where Ruth worked as a school secretary at Andrew Davison School until her retirement.

Ruth is survived by her children and their spouses, Ross and Lynne, Janet and Tom McCaig, and Gordon and Kathleen; her grandchildren and their spouses, Sean and Alexis, Kristi and Dave, Alison, Michael, and Brian Pattie; and great-grandchildren, Anna and Rowen Pattie, and Kenzie and Kaelyn Campbell.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Ruth was predeceased by her husband Mitch in 2007; her parents; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and Andrew Anderson, Annie and John Sapergia, Mary and Gordon Stuart; and her brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Audrey Salthammer.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary, AB) on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 2 p.m.  Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences may be forwarded through www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
