Obituary of Jean Isabel KITTLITZ

Jean Kittlitz, beloved wife of Ray Kittlitz of Calgary, AB, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2019 after a brief illness. 

Jean was born in Vancouver, BC, and worked in the insurance industry in Kelowna, Yellowknife, Toronto and Calgary. Jean was a strong woman who lived life on her own terms, her sarcastic sense of humour surpassed only by her compassion and kindness. She was an expert card player who earned her Gold Life Master’s at duplicate bridge and who regularly beat the casino at the blackjack table. She was an excellent cook and had a passion for gardening, being a member of the Calgary Horticultural Society. Jean enjoyed avoiding Calgary’s colder months by spending winters in Sun Lakes, AZ, for many years. She loved animals and provided a home for a series of rescue cats and dogs.

Besides her loving husband of fifty-four years, Raymond, Jean is survived by her son Ken, daughter-in-law Mary, cherished granddaughter Emily Jean, and her sister Dr. Kathleen Archibald. She is predeceased by her parents Donald and Kathleen (Bond) McIntosh.

A private family service will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the Emergency and Unit 62 staff of Foothills Medical Centre for their care of Jean.
