Obituary of Silvie METZGER (nee Ray)

June 24, 1930 – Innisfail, Alberta
October 30, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

Silvie Metzger beloved wife of the late Edward Metzger, of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the age of 89 years.

Silvie was born in Innisfail, AB, on June 24, 1930. She and Edward were married on October 9, 1948, and together they moved to Calgary in 1951, where they lived in their Bridgeland home until 2009. Silvie enjoyed crafts, embroidering, knitting, crocheting, gardening, and baking. 

Silvie will be missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Vera and Ernie Teslak, son and daughter-in-law Mel and Maryann, ten grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and her brother Gordon of Vernon, BC. Silvie was predeceased by her beloved husband of fifty-six years, Edward, daughter Shirley, son Ronald,  grandson Bradley, parents, George and Eva, brothers, Alex, Harold, Daniel, Wilfred, and William (Bill);  and sisters, Pauline, Alvina, Ruth, and Alice. 

Funeral Services will be held at Innisfail Funeral Home & Crematorium (4415 49 Street, Innisfail, AB), on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.  Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
