Obituary of Robert FORTIN

Robert Fortin of Calgary passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at the age of 63.

He was very proud to have worked with Transcontinental Printing for 36 years and made a big impact on the many friends he made along the way. Robert accomplished much throughout his life and was particularly proud of the moments he started his own business and walked his daughter down the aisle at her wedding. Robert enjoyed travelling, taking pictures, spending time with friends, and teaching his granddaughter French. He had a passion for collecting coins, spoons, and stamps. Robert will be most remembered for his sense of humour and teddy bear personality.

Robert leaves behind his wife Brenda Govan; his daughter Laurie-Anne Spooner (Ronald); his wife’s daughter Sabrina Halge (Kevin); his granddaughter Molly. He is also survived by his mother Blanche Gilbert; his brothers, Renaud and Simon (Hélène Richer- deceased); sister Line (Sylvain); and niece Christina. He was a brother-in-law to Margaret Fritz (Harry), Sandi Sparkes (David), Phyllis Caverly (Doug), Sharon Larocque (Mike), Peter Govan, Wayne Govan, Rena Govan, and Linda Trelford (Peter). He will also leave behind many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Robert was predeceased by his father Claude.
