Ken Leibel, beloved husband of Donna Leibel (nee Miller) of Calgary, AB passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the age of 73.

Ken was born in Macklin, SK on August 7, 1946, and grew up in Denzil, SK.  His family moved to Lac La Biche, AB in 1960.  Ken later moved to Fort McMurray to work, where he met Donna Miller. They married in 1969, when Ken fainted before saying “I do”.  They raised their children, Richard and Janet in Fort McMurray.  Ken and his family enjoyed camping and travelling. He loved to take his family on road trips, visiting many areas of the Canadian and US west coast.   One of Ken and Donna’s favourite trips was to Alaska, where Ken could enjoy his favourite meal of “King Crab”.  He did not like long plane rides over the open ocean, but did enjoy his visit to the Azores Islands in August 2016. Ken and Donna retired in Okotoks, AB in 2002, where they lived for seventeen years.  During retirement, they traveled and enjoyed spending winters in Arizona and California.  In May 2018 Ken was diagnosed with Melanoma, he had one surgery and started immunotherapy to combat his cancer.  Ken and Donna then moved to south Calgary in June 2019 to be near their children and grand-dogs.

Besides his loving wife, Donna, Ken is survived by his daughter Janet (Shawn LeDrew); and son Richard (Miguel Costa).  Ken is also survived by three brothers, one sister; his father-in-law, Benny Miller; and many brother and sister-in-laws.
