Obituary of Mirko Nicholas TURCHET

Mirko Turchet, beloved husband of Cinzia Battistella, and father of Erik of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at the age of 50 years.

Mirko was born in Calgary, AB on December 6, 1968. He moved to Pordenone, Italy in 1977 and met his loving wife, Cinzia in 1994. They married in 1995 and immigrated that same year to Canada, making their home in Calgary, AB. In 1997 they welcomed their beloved son, Erik. Mirko accomplished much throughout his life. He was a particularly skilled woodworker with extraordinary cabinet making skills. He was a true artist which is evident in the beautiful work he did within his and Cinzia’s home. But his greatest accomplishment was his family; the pride he had in them will forever be remembered. Mirko had a great passion for his car and driving. He was an instructor with the BMW Club. He was well-loved and respected within the community of car enthusiasts and made many great friendships over the years. Mirko and Cinzia spent every year in Mexico and enjoyed the lasting friendships that they made there.

Mirko’s favourite saying was, “If you’re going to do it, do it right the first time!” He will always be lovingly and fondly remembered by the many friends he made over the years.

Besides his loving wife, Cinzia, Mirko is survived by his son Erik; his parents, Mario (Monica) and Luciana Brusadin; and his sister Monja. He is also survived by his father-in-law, and mother-in-law, Franco and Sabina; sister-in-law, Tamara (Eros); their children, Nicholas & Irene; and his brother-in-law Denis (Lucia), their children Mattia & Davide all from Italy.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Albert the Great Parish (10 Prestwick Dr SE, Calgary, AB T2Z 4J6) on Monday, November, 25, 2019 at start time 10:00 a.m.  Reception to follow at 638 McKenzie Lake Bay SE. Condolences may be forwarded through www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
