Obituary of Samuel Lloyd YAMCHUK

June 8, 1932 – Rosthern, Saskatchewan
November 18, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with heavy hearts we announce that Samuel Lloyd Yamchuk passed away in Calgary, AB on Monday, November 18, 2019 at the age of 87 years after a battle with pneumonia.

Most important to him was his family, he loved his family and spending time with them, special occasions family gatherings and the most recent road trip to Rosthern in October.

Samuel will be deeply missed by his daughters, Darlene Yamchuk and grandson Chance (Katie) Yamchuk; Lenora Brown and grandchildren Michael Brown, Devon (Lindsay) Brown, great-grandchildren Owen and Lucy Brown; Melanie Brown (Derick Saltel) great-grandchild Alya Saltel; Salima Samji and grandson Saif Ali Samji; Eileen Yamchuk; his sons, Ken Cooper, grandchildren, Jamie Yamchuk, Gerry Yamchuk and family, Lisa (Thomas) Monteiro and great-grandchildren, Rachel and Matias; Daniel Yamchuk and Allan Yamchuk. He will also be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Doris (Leonard) Calffas and Helen Nesdoly; and his brother Terry Woodthorpe. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews who loved him so much, who have the highest regard for him and thought the world of him.

He was predeceased by his wife Eleanor Yamchuk (nee Boyko), his parents Samuel Sr. and Mary Minnie Yamchuk; his sister and brother-in-law Mary and Pete Zadorozny, his brother and sister-in-law Benjamin and Molly Yamchuk; brother-in-law Alex Nesdoly, brother and sister-in-law Ernie and Sonnia Boyko; nephews, Ken and Bob Callfas, Leslie Zadorozny and Larry Boyko and great-nephew Nakita Boyko.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.  Graveside Service to follow at the Rocky View Garden of Peace.
