Obituary of Nirorth MEY-SON

April 17, 1983 -Thailand

November 21, 2019 – Seattle, Washington, USA

Nirorth, beloved wife of Sokha Son, of Calgary, passed away on November 21, 2019 at the age of 36 years.

Nirorth was born in Thailand on April 17, 1983. On March 19, 1985 she landed in Canada with her family. Nirorth graduated from Forest Lawn High School then Brock University in Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts. Although she spent most of her life in Canada, she and her husband were raising their children in Seattle, Washington, USA. She was a member of the New Beginnings Church in Renton, WA. Nirorth accomplished much through her life and had a passion for helping others, especially children.  She always dreamt of becoming a teacher. Nirorth’s most memorable vacation was the Annual Disneyland trip with family and friends in California.  She enjoyed camping trips a few times a year, loved promoting a healthy lifestyle and always tried to educate and implement it on others.

Nirorth’s favourite quote was, “There is no greater gift you can give or receive than to honor your calling. It’s why you were born. And how you become most truly alive.” – Oprah. She will be most remembered for her love of family.

Besides her loving husband, Nirorth is survived by her children, Nya Kolap Son (8 years old) and King Sovath (5 years old); her parents, Sarann Mey and Sovann Soung; her siblings, Ry Mey, Sovath Mey and Melissa Soung; brother-in-law Wael Hammoud, her niece Cecilia Soung, nephews, Ahmed K. Hammoud, Zayn K. Hammoud and Malik S. Hammoud; and numerous friends.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North Calgary, AB) on Saturday, November, 30, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m.
