Obituary of Edward JENSON

Edward Jenson of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at the age of 83 years.

Edward was born in Gull Lake, SK, on October 4, 1936. He lived most of his adult life in Lloydminster where he was a business man, pilot and tree farmer. He was on the Board of Governors for the Lakeland College, as well as the Board of Directors for the Bi-Provincial Upgrader. He moved to Cochrane in 2008 to be closer to his children and grand-children. Edward married Fern in 1967. They lived on acreage outside of Lloydminster, where they had a tree farm and raised their two children, Jodi and Jory. Some of his hobbies were, being a member of the Lloydminster investment club and following the stock market. Edward was also a strong advocate to ensure the Lakeland College Lloydminster campus was built. He was instrumental in acquiring student housing through the Bi-Provincial Upgrader, as well as supporting the funding of the Vicjuba Theatre. Ed started the Ed Jenson and Family Scholarship and donated over 200 trees.

Besides his loving wife Fern, Ed is survived by his daughter Jodi (Ryan) Labrie of Calgary, AB, his son Jory (Shelley) Jenson of Bragg Creek, AB; six grandchildren, Mason, Nicholas, Emerson, Seth, Sage and Charleigh; and two step-grandchildren, Callen and Kya. Ed is also survived by his brother Delbert (Mavis) Jenson, as well as his niece and nephew, Janet and Wallace Hollingshead. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Tory and Ruth; and his younger brother Clint.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Cochrane, 369 Railway Street, Cochrane, AB), on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside service to follow at Cochrane Cemetery.
