December 19, 1925 – Indian Head, Saskatchewan
December 2, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

Doris Amy Parker, beloved wife of the late William Parker of Calgary, Alberta, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2019 at the age of 93 years.

Doris was born in Indian Head, Saskatchewan, on December 19, 1925.

She married William Macdonald Parker on September 29, 1951; they were married for sixty years when Bill died in 2011. They raised a family together and lived in Edmonton, Ottawa and Calgary.

Dori had many adventures travelling all over Canada and abroad. She was a stylish designer, both with houses and with gardens. The daughter of a Scotsman, she imparted to us Gaelic sayings such as “long may yer lum reek” (long may your hearth smoke). Sharp witted and kind, Dori was always looking for the humour in life.

Lovingly remembered by her children Patricia, David, Susan, and Stuart; their families Robert, Rachael, Colin, Alex, Ivy, Gillian, Hillary, Jonathon, Remy, Corey, Doug, Annette, Michael, and Jennifer. She will also be missed by her brothers-in-law, Gilbert Parker and Jim Dennis, and by her many nieces and nephews across the country.

She was predeceased by her three sisters Beth, Jean, Nan and their husbands John and Jack.

A Private Family Service will be held at a later date. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Doris’ obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.

A tree will be planted in living memory of Doris Parker. McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, CALGARY, AB T3G 2T3, Telephone: 403-241-0044.
