Mary Astle, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at the age of 92 years.

Mary was born in Walkerton, ON, on July 10, 1927. Her early life was colorful and exciting, as a professional figure skater for “Ice Capades” and “Holiday on Ice” from 1946 to 1953. She met her husband, Fred, skating at the local rink in Edmonton, and Mary eventually continued to teach figure skating for many decades.

Later in life, she had a very successful career as a Realtor for Royal LePage. She always enjoyed camping trips in the summer. Hawaii was her happy place, and she tried to go there as much as possible. In later years, she and Fred spent some enjoyable times travelling in Europe. She enjoyed a long, healthy life overall.

Mary is survived by her son, Bill, daughter-in-law Barb, and granddaughter Carmen of Calgary, AB, daughter, Nancy, and granddaughters, Stephanie and Caroline Schauder of North Carolina.
