Obituary of Alexander (Sandy) Gordon ALLEN

January 20, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Sandy, beloved husband of Rose Allen (nee Zumik) of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully in his sleep, on Monday, January 20, 2020 at the age of 80 years.

Sandy was born in Drumheller, on August 15, 1939 to Joe, and Elsie (Anderson) Allen. Sandy spent his idyllic childhood roaming the hills of the Badlands. He was an avid hockey player and automobile enthusiast.  During his early days he enjoyed coaching his children’s hockey teams and was involved with the Kinsmen. His passion became the Shuswap Lake and the boating life.  He enjoyed thirty-one summers of fun at the lake with his many friends and family.

Sandy worked for thirty-five years as a Gas Technician beginning his career with Alberta Gas Trunkline, Nova and finally with TransCanada Pipelines.

Besides his loving wife, Rose, Sandy is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Al Pasini, son, Joseph Alexander, his daughter, Shannon Allen and son-in-law, Colin Jones; stepchildren, Michael and Cheryl Guidolin, Andrea and Scott LaPrairie; and grandchildren, Wacy, Tiffany, Jordi, Jesse Allen, Alexander, Donald, Jessica Ashley-Jones, Isabella and Hunter Guidolin, and Alexander and Fleur LaPrairie; and several nieces and nephews; Joanne (Cam) Pasini-Taylor, Gordon (Heather) Pasini, and Ron (Colette) Pasini.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
