Obituary of Carol “Perky” Lynn SMITH

Perky, beloved wife of Terry Smith of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at the age of 74 years. She was a native Calgarian who grew up in the neighborhood of South Calgary. Perky attended King Edward School and Western Canada High School.

Perky found the most joy in family life and spent as much time as she could with her beloved grandchildren who called her “Amma”. She was an avid traveller, seeing the world with the love of her life Terry, but her favourite place was always Gull Lake; watching the grandkids play and sharing big family meals at night. Perky was an avid quilter and enjoyed sharing her creations with those she loved and those in need.

Perky is survived by her husband of 48 years, Terry, her son, Steven of St. Albert, her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Kent Jenkins of Calgary; and five grandchildren, Sierra, Caius, Ethan, Ruby and Hayley. Carol will also be dearly missed by her brother, Michael (Joanne) Hilton of Vancouver; two sisters, Judy (Con) Collie of Calgary, and Sherry (Brian) Tully of Cochrane; and sisters-in-law, Win Smith and Sue Fitzgerald of Ponteix, SK; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law Ron Smith of Ponteix, SK.
