Obituary of Patricia Josephine MARTELL

March 18, 1936 – March 16, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Josephine Martell (nee Kyte) of Calgary, AB, formerly of Sydney, NS.  Pat passed away at the Foothills Medical Center in Calgary, on Monday, March 16, 2020 as the result of a severe stroke.

Pat worked in the insurance industry in Calgary for many years and she and her husband, George, were previously business owners in Glace Bay.

She is survived by her husband, George; sons, Lindsay (Monika Kawka) of Vancouver and Rick of Calgary; daughter, Tracy of Calgary; and grandsons, Payton and Teague of Calgary and Leo of Vancouver.  She is also survived by her sisters, Peggy of Calgary and Mae of Woodstock, ON; brothers, Tom of Bathurst, N.B. and Richard of Calgary; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pat was predeceased by her parents, Isaac and Rose Kyte of Sydney; brother Louis of Bras d’Or; and sisters, Karen Crowell of Calgary and Marie Kyte of Glace Bay.

Pat’s infectious laugh, her deep love and support for her family and her abiding devotion to Cape Breton will be remembered by all.
