Obituary of Jean Townsend RACH

Jean Rach of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at the age of 75 years.

 

Jean was born in Urmston, UK on June 20, 1944. She immigrated to Canada with her family in 1955, and she became a citizen in 1961. She graduated from Calgary’s Queen Elizabeth High School in 1962. Jean married Roy Rach in 1963. After raising her family, she went back to work as a School Assistant with the Calgary Board of Education until her retirement in 2009. She was creative and particularly enjoyed calligraphy, knitting, scrapbooking, and card-making. However, Jean’s greatest joy was her family.

 

Jean was blessed with three sons, Allan who predeceased her (Carla), Michael, Dale (Serena); one daughter, Jody (Andrew); nine grandchildren, Scott, Brady (Tara), Dillon (Kendra), Ben, Rebecca, Memphis, Field, Samuel, and Sophie; and four great-grandchildren, Farah, Kalen, Wyatt, and Brynlee. She is also survived by her brother Tom (Doris); and numerous extended family and friends. Jean was also predeceased by her husband Roy, and brother Philip.

 

In light of the present circumstances, a celebration of Jean’s life will be held at a future date.
