Condolences
We are so sorry for your loss.
Although we did not know each other well, we would greet Claudette in passing as our sons were friends. It was obvious that she was kind, and helpful, and good natured, just from the way she carried herself. Reading her obituary reinforces this.
While her death was sudden and must have been devastating for everyone who was with her, it was also fortunate that she and Stan had made the trip to Alberta to visit with Mike and Justine and their family for the first time since Covid had struck. Looking forward to a trip to see her grandchildren, and then having the opportunity to be with them would no doubt have brought Claudette great joy.
Respectfully,
Sue Onlock and Steve Edwards
Claudette and I started sewing in Home Ec in Courtenay High in grade 8 or 9. We became instant friends and continued to share sewing updates over the years when we occasionally met on the Comox-Powell River ferry. She was a lovely person then and now. Her calm, happy, demeanour contributed to making the world for those around her a better place. I feel fortunate to have known her.
Condolences to Stan, the boys and their families, Gary, Sandy and Susie and their families at this most difficult time. Courage and strength in what comes next. Warm regards, Marianna Hofmeister (nee Thran)
I’m in shock seeing this, I knew Claudette from Canadian tire and also from shopping in Save on Foods, she was always friendly and helpful and always had a smile on her face, my thoughts and prayers go out to her family...

I will always remember Claudette as a kind, generous, and loving person. I knew her best in my elementary and middle schools years while spending hours at the Craigen's. Whether we were playing in pool, on the trampoline, or in the bushes she was always there to make sure things were OK, offer some food or drinks, help when we got hurt, or comfort us when we were upset. Claudette was one of those friend's moms that treated you like you were her own. While I haven't seen her for almost two decades, I will deeply miss that she's not with us anymore. And I think that says a lot about how she positively impacted the world around her.
