Obituary of Marie Anne KELLIER

December 3, 1932 – Edgerton, Alberta March 2, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta Marie Kellier of Calgary passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018 at the age of 85 years. Marie was born in Edgerton, AB, the oldest of five girls. She worked in a clerical position at Wainwright CFB. It was here that she met her husband Robert (Bob). In 1967, they bought a farm and moved to Crossfield, AB. When he retired from the military, they worked together farming and built up a custom baling and stacking business. Marie loved cooking, gardening, baking, sewing, crafts, singing, ceramics, painting, quilting, curling and travelling. She was active in community groups but above all, loved spending time with family and friends. She sang in the choir and was an active member in the Crossfield United Church. She was a past officer and district deputy OORP (Royal Purple of Canada). Marie is survived by her children, Robert Allan and Inge Kellier of Edmonton, Kenneth Gerald and Lesley of Calgary and Marlene (Kellier) Pinchbeck and James Pinchbeck of Whitecourt, AB; her grandchildren Collin and Karen Kellier of Spruce Grove, Lena Woodford of Edmonton, Brennan and Julie Pinchbeck of Edmonton, Steven Kellier of Toronto, and Taylor Pinchbeck of Calgary; and her great-grandchildren, Rachel Woodford, Ethan Kellier, Todd Kellier, Jenna Woodford, Elijah Pinchbeck, Emmanuel Pinchbeck, and Bonnie Pinchbeck. She will also be remembered by her sisters Lorraine Ashton of Calgary and Joyce (Ross) Perkins of Sherwood Park; as well as Paulette (Len) Roson of Calgary; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Marie was predeceased by her husband Robert Augustus Kellier (March 13, 1997); her son William Paul Kellier (May 28, 2015); and her sisters Marjorie Spornitz and Carol Belik; as well as brothers and sisters-in-law, Victor (Bud) Spornitz, Francis Kellier, Alice Kellier, Gerald Kellier, and Mary Kellier. Funeral Services will be held at Crossfield United Church (1005 Ross Street, Crossfield, AB) on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the Crossfield Community Centre.
