Obituary of Claire Malvina FOISY (nee Parent)

December 13, 1931 – Donnelly, Alberta
July 22, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Claire Foisy on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at the age of 88 years.

Claire was born in Donnelly, AB on December 13, 1931.

She moved to St. Paul, AB in the early 1950’s.

Claire graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Physical Recreation in 1952.  She also completed her Civil Defence Training at the University of Alberta, and became a civil defence instructor in Alberta schools in 1960.  Claire taught school in the St. Paul and Donnelly area for forty-four years.

Claire loved to travel in her car to visit her family and friends. One of Claire’s favourite saying was “Steady wins the race”. She will be most remembered for her hard work and love for her Boys and her joyful manner.

Claire is survived by her four sons, Marcel (Melanie) of Sherwood Park, Paul (Joanne), George (Maryann) and Bernard all of Calgary; her grandchildren, Evan, Heather, Katie, Nicholas, Jennifer, Sean, Robin, Ryan, Danielle and Myles; and eight great-grandchildren.  Claire was predeceased by her son Romeo who passed away at the age of thirteen.

Claire was the last surviving member of her family.
