Obituary of Niomi Alexandra POWDERFACE

October 11, 1988 – Canmore, Alberta
August 22, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Niomi Alexandra Powderface on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at the age of 31 years.

Niomi had a beautiful smile and a quiet journey on this earth. She enjoyed and loved hanging around her brothers, cousins, and best friends. Most of all, Niomi loved her children; they were her world. She always wanted the best for them. Family was everything to Niomi and she helped raise her younger brothers. Niomi believed in her Yethka and traditional ways that were so important to her and she especially loved attending round dances. 

Niomi will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest with love.

Niomi will be remembered by her partner Jason York; her children, Victor Dean, Robbie, Neeka, Neoma, Tobias, Neamo, Ocean, JaNiyalee, Alijah; her mother Karen Powderface; father Victor Wesley; brothers, Joey (Debbie), Brandon (Lillian), Storm, and Seth; and many other family and friends. We apologize if we have missed anyone.

Niomi was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Stella Powderface and Roger Bearspaw; paternal grandparents, Veronica Wesley and Isaiah Beaver.

She has relatives from Morley and Bighorn.

Wake Services will be held at the Residence of Karen Powderface (Morley, AB) on Sunday, August 30, 2020.  

Funeral Services will be held at Morley United Church (Morley, AB) on Monday, August 31, 2020 at 12:00 p.m.  Graveside Service to follow at Chiniki Cemetery (Morley, AB).  Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Niomi’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
