Obituary of Jozef (Joseph, Joe) Klemens BIELECKI

August 27, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Jozef (Joseph, Joe) Bielecki of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at the age of 94 years.

Jozef was born in Cieszanow, Poland, on March 15, 1926. He married Genowefa (Genny) Blicharski in 1955, and they immigrated to Canada in 1961 with their son Jack.  They stayed a few years in Penbrook, ON, and then settled in Montreal, QC. In 1989, Jozef and Genny moved to Calgary to retire and be closer to their son’s family.
 
Jozef graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a degree in Watchmaking in Poland and worked in both fields.

Jozef liked to joke around.  He liked to play tennis, do car repairs, and work on watches and clocks.  He also liked photography.
 
He will be most remembered for his photography of events in the Polish community in Montreal, and his sense of humor.

Jozef is survived by his son Jack and daughter-in-law Danielle Bielecki (nee Makula), and three grandchildren, Laura (Jacob Aduol) of Dubai, UAE, Tom (Rebecca Allen) Bielecki of Calgary, AB, and Kathy (Justin Templeton) of Calgary, AB; and his great-grandson Marcus Aduol of Dubai, UAE. Jozef was predeceased by Genny, his wife of sixty-three years, in 2018.
