Obituary of Rosamond Bernice FITZPATRICK

February 3, 1925 – Peterborough, Ontario February 19, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta Roz beloved wife of Gerald Fitzpatrick of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2018 at the age of 93 years. Roz was born in Ontario, and lived her young life in Byng Inlet, Ontario. At the age of 17, she moved to the big city of Toronto, and by age 18 she had fallen in love with and married Bill Flynn, who shipped out overseas within months of their marriage. Michelle was born in June of 1944, and as a young mother whose husband was overseas, Roz lived with her parents and her grandmother until he returned from the war in 1946. They were posted to Calgary in 1958, and in 1962, Shannon came along to complete their family. Roz loved skiing, cycling, camping, golfing, and in later years, bridge. In 1991, she met and fell in love with Gerry, and together they embarked on a journey into their sunset years. They were together for twenty-nine years, and shared the same passion for outdoor activities. Sadly she suffered a debilitating stroke in 2009, and spent the remainder of her years at the Bethany Care Centre. Besides her loving husband, Gerald, Roz is survived by her daughters, Michelle Johnston (Rollie) and Shannon Flynn (Dale Moore); stepchildren Cathy Costello (John) and Michael Fitzpatrick (Eileen); grandchildren, Sandra Johnston (Clint), Jenifer Olar (John), Michael Mitchell, and Wayne Fairless; step-grandchild Sean; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jessie-Sarah, Evan, Jacqueline, Megan and Zoe; sister Barbara; nieces, Denise, Amelia and Nicole; and by her nephew Leo. Roz was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Clarrisey and by sisters Beulah and Madelon. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
