Obituary of Majed SHAMMAS

Majed was the beloved son of Manal and Maen Shammas, and the caring brother of Grace Shammas. He lived a blessed and cherished life to the age of 22 years and passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020.
Born in Damascus, Syria and spent his early childhood in Kuwait. His family moved to Canada and he began his journey in Calgary, the city where he spent the majority of his life and grew to love. Majed was a dedicated student entering his final year of University and carried a special interest with the fields of business and law. He was a valued member of the Manor Village family, sharing his smile and kindness with both residents and staff members at the front desk. Always ready for an adventure, Majed loved to experience life, making lasting memories. He was a caring man who was eager to lend a hand wherever needed. Majed spread his laughter and happiness amongst his loved ones and left lasting images in our hearts.
Majed leaves behind his mother, sister, and father. He is survived by the families of his uncle Riad, aunt May, aunt Rana, and aunt Ruba, on his father’s side; and his grandparents, Tayseer and Haila, and the families of his aunt Rania, uncle Jameel, and uncle Nabil on his mother’s side.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Basil Melkite Greek Catholic Church (St. Stephen Protomartyr Ukrainian Catholic Church) (4903 – 45th Street S.W., Calgary, AB) on Monday, September 14, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
