Obituary of Diane JOHNSON (nee Eves)

July 14, 1947 – Chatham, Ontario

September 8, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Diane Johnson of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at the age of 73 years.

Diane was raised in the Blenheim area of Ontario, the second of four children to Ruth and Kitchener Eves. Diane graduated with a degree in Nursing and moved to Calgary, AB in 1968 where she worked as an accountant, bookkeeper and small business owner.

Diane was known for her kindness, generosity, and fun-loving spirit. She enjoyed spending time sipping wine, golfing, and listening to live music with her friends and family whether in Phoenix, BC, or Calgary. For many years she was a member at the Bearspaw Golf and Country Club. She enjoyed crafting and making quilts for family, and baking Hello Dollies for anyone with a sweet tooth. Family was very important to her. She enjoyed hosting large gatherings and was always willing to welcome one more.

Diane is survived by her two sons and one daughter-in-law, Paul Johnson, Eric Johnson, and Heather Zarsky Johnson; and three grandchildren, Xyler Johnson, and Elliott and Hazel Johnson, all residing in Calgary, AB. She is also survived by her brother Bill Eves, sister Miriam Goodman, brother-in-law Stacy Goodman, sister-in-law Elaine Eves, and many nieces and nephews. Diane was predeceased by her parents and her brother John.

A private family service will be held and a Celebration of Diane’s Life will be held at a later date for extended family and friends.
