Obituary of Paul Baldur GISLASON

June 21, 1925 - Wynyard, Saskatchewan

September 13, 2020 – Airdrie, Alberta

Baldur Gislason passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2020, satisfied with life. He said: "I've been lucky. I've had a very happy life!" His friends and family know it wasn't luck...he was an exceptionally kind, loving man. He got back what he gave.

Baldur taught math and physics at S.A.I.T. for over thirty years. Many of his students were in the trades and came from humble backgrounds, like himself. He went out of his way to reassure them by taking time to explain the subjects thoroughly. As a result, many students still remember his kindness and often expressed to him their sincere appreciation.

He loved to golf, curl, ski, hike, and spend lots of time playing with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He believed: ‘Man does not cease to play because he grows old...man grows old because he ceases to play!’

Arrangements for a Celebration of Life to be announced. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Baldur’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
