Obituary of Marjorie Jane KRAHN

September 3, 1939 – Swift Current, Saskatchewan

October 8, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness the family of Marjorie Krahn announces her peacefully passing at the Foothills Hospital with family by her side on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at the age of 81.

Mickey was born on September 3, 1939 in Swift Current, SK where she met and later married her beloved husband George on April 28, 1956. Mickey and George moved to Calgary in the summer of 1964. Mickey worked as a Housekeeping Supervisor at a nursing home for many years and was very proud of her Calgary White Hat Award, which she received in 1992 for her exceptional service.

Mickey brought so much joy to so many lives. Grammin/Gramma, as she was known to her three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, had a very special bond with each one of them. She spent many hours attending baseball, ringette, and hockey games as well as many hours with baking, cooking, and craft sessions. Silk flowers was one of her passions. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren always enjoyed working with her to proudly create silk flower bouquets for their teachers at the end of the school year.

Mickey shared with George the enjoyment of travelling in their motorhome to numerous rodeos; especially the Canadian Finals and the National Finals. While travelling they enjoyed making and sharing many meals with their cowboy family.

Besides her loving husband George, Mickey leaves behind her three children, Lonnie Krahn (Jeanette), Diane Day (Andrew) and Darren Krahn. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, George McClelland, Terry McClelland (Jeanette) and Brandy Collins (Jay-D); and great-grandchildren, Adrianna McClelland, Dayton Collins, Eve McClelland and Carly McClelland. Mickey is also survived by her three brothers, Les Quan (Linda), Lloyd Quan and Rick Quan; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Due to the current health restrictions, a private graveside service will be held for immediate family only. We truly wish we could have everyone there with us and want to thank all our extended family and friends for their kind words and support. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Mickey’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.

In living memory of Mickey Krahn, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes, Eastside, 5388 Memorial Drive NE, Calgary, AB T2A 3V9, Telephone: 403-248-8585.
