Obituary of Myrtis David Jason MARK

December 19, 1970 – Banff, Alberta
October 21, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Myrtis, our beloved dear Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, Nephew and Grandpa. He was called home by our Creator on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at the age of 49 years.

Everyone knew Myrtis as a kindhearted, humble, strong, courageous and fearless man. His love for others was constant as it was unconditional. Despite many set backs with health issues, Myrtis always enjoyed life to the fullest, he never let anything hold him back from the things he loved to do and the ones he loved to be around. Myrtis pursued a career in Oil & Gas, obtaining his education through SAIT and working for Chiniki Lands as Land Administrator for eighteen years. Myrtis has always practiced a traditional way of life attending many ceremonies to participating in many powwows across North America singing with his drum group Rumbling Hills and Chiniki Lake Jrs. As a teen he participated in many rodeos as a bull rider. Myrtis had a love of travel, hunting, fishing, camping, skiing and all outdoor recreation with family.  Myrtis also had a special place in his heart for his cat Victor.

Myrtis is survived by his wife, Tia-Lynn, children, Matayaz, Kylan, Tyron, and Sierra Mark; brothers, Charles (Bernadine) Mark, Randal (Cynthia) Poucette; sisters, Melvandra, Geraldine (Larry), Flora, and Tracy Mark; father Charlie (Cassie) Mark, mother-in-law Delia Manychief, aunties, Doreen, Norma, and Debbie Poucette, Doreen Simeon; uncles, David Poucette, Eldon (Jackie) Snow; adopted family, Cecil (Judy) Nepoose, Kathleen Poucette, Eva Powder, Cameron and Darrel (Ariel) Kootenay; and numerous extended family (nieces, nephews, cousins) and friends including those from the United States, Poucette, Twoyoungmen, Baptiste, Simeon, Chiniquay, Crawler, Fox, Powderface and Smalleyes families.

He was predeceased by mother Vera Mark, granddaughter Zoey Crawler, nephew Trayson Mark, Fergus Mark, brothers, Vern and Jerome Poucette; paternal grandparents, Paul and Eunice Mark; maternal grandparents, Adam and Flora Poucette; and all other family and friends that have gone on before him. We apologize if we have missed anyone. 
 
Memorial Wake Services will be held at the Residence of Charles Mark (Morley, AB) on Saturday, October 24, 2020 & Sunday October 25, 2020.
 
Due to COVID regulations, Family Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Cochrane, 369 Railway Street, Cochrane, AB) on Monday, October 26, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside service to follow at the family plot (Morley, AB). With the current pandemic, we will have restrictions set in place in accordance to Alberta Health Services regulations. We appreciate your compliance.
