Obituary of Kenneth John GOODING

July 24, 1926 – Warman, Alberta January 21, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta Kenneth Gooding, of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at the age of 91 years. Ken was born on July 24, 1926 in Warman, Saskatchewan. He chose to move to Saskatoon at a young age to go to school. He received his Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Saskatoon, specializing in Mechanical Engineering. Ken married Marjorie Macdonald in 1950 and they had three children. After Marjorie passed away in 1964, he married Elizabeth Neil in 1966, who recently passed in 2017. Ken worked in North Battleford for Massey Harris Ltd. After that he was hired as an engineer for Royalite and Gulf Oil in Regina, Edmonton, and Calgary. Ken loved sports; he played hockey throughout all of university, played golf and curled all his life. His main passion was golf, and because of this Ken and Elizabeth bought a home in Phoenix, Arizona and became snow birds from 1981-2005. Ken even has several hole-in-ones to be proud of. Ken is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Lenore and Simon DeJong and Vivian Gooding and Clay Sumner; and his son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Patricia Gooding. Ken was predeceased by his first wife Marjorie in 1964, and his second wife, Elizabeth “Bette” in 2017. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
