Condolences
I knew Marianne when we lived in Grande Prairie and played soccer together. I don’t think a more gentle spirit ever walked the earth. I hope her spirit is high on the ridges in Kananaskis full of love of the land and all its beauty. I am so sorry that the world must do without her. I hope her partner and family hold on to all the lovely memories once the pain lessens.

I met Marianne while her and Brigitte were participants in a bootcamp class I was teaching in Calgary, AB. For many years our crew sweated together in the snow, rain and sun. I will forever remember Marianne's kindness, sense of humour, strength and competitive side. She was always up for every challenge I gave, and definitely worked hard in every single class. Her energy in class was such a treasure for me, and I know the other participants loved having her around too.
Thinking of you Brigitte, and sending my love and condolences your way.

Brigitte, Dorothy, and family of Marianne,
My deepest sympathies to all of you. I was so shocked and so sorry to hear of Marianne’s passing. I had the privilege to have worked and have known her for over 20 years. I have many fond memories and feel honored to have been a small part of Marianne’s life and call her a friend. She was caring, smart and a great teacher at her job. Always giving 120%. Staying late to make a deadline, making sure to never let anyone down.
And I kind of figured she was that way at sports as it was not usual to see her coming into the office sporting a shiner. And I think there was even a cast or two over the years ... just another sport injury but she always said to me ” you got to do what you have to – to block a goal.”
She was truly one of those gentle souls that you meet in life that makes you a better person for knowing her.
May you find comfort and strength in the memories you shared together.
Sending you heartfelt condolences.
I was a soccer teammate of Marianne's for many years. I will always remember her calm nature and amazing goaltending skills. As a defender, I knew she always had my back. You will be dearly missed by the soccer community. Sending my condolences to Marianne's family.

My deepest condolences to the family. I enjoyed working with Marianne and she will be missed.
Only a truly beautiful soul like Marianne could cause such a stir of emotions from so far away. Always so pleasant, so calm, so attentive, so caring, so gentle and so warm. We didn't get a chance to know Marianne as well as we'd liked but we do know that we all lost an incredibly special person person in our lives. We will miss her but never ever forget her.
To Dorothy. Although we've never met, I still think of you as family, and I want you to know that you raised a truly magnificent human being who brought nothing but good and caring to this world.
Marianne you will always be in our hearts.

Marianne and I played hockey together and then I roped her into playing goalie for my soccer team. She said she had played before but I was a bit nervous that she might not be that good. She certainly downplayed her talents and just quietly went about blowing our minds with her talent. Marianne had such a great demeanor and sense of fun and humor. I'm so glad that our paths crossed and that we could hang out and play sports together. She is one of the good ones.
Brigitte I am very sorry to hear this sad news and have you in my thoughts.
So saddened to hear of Marianne’s passing. It was a joy to be on the soccer pitch with her. Such a beautiful calming spirit. We shared great times in Vernon with her and Brigitte Thinking of you.

Someone so special can never be forgotten from our hearts. My heartfelt condolences.
I was privileged to have played soccer with Marianne for several years and not only was she an amazing person on the field but off the field as well.
We were room mates in our 20's and we hiked the West Coast Trail together during that time. Marianne was the strongest and yet most humbly quiet person I have ever known. She will certainly be missed amongst everyone who's lives were touched by her.
My heart goes out to everyone who loved Marianne. This is such a huge loss to our DCM Family.
Words can’t describe how sorry I am at this loss.
Marianne Elizabeth Merrill, You made me family! I am forever in your debt for making me an insider.
Through the past 10 years I have worked for you, with you on the things that most people avoid and ignore, to improve the quality of life peace of mind. You and Brigitte were never easily impressed, or willing to bend. You demanded excellence and forced me to raise my game. I'm an expert because you required it and made it personal for me.
I pray for Your family, your loved ones, your friends... To bear your bittersweet untimely departure from this world with grace. The lesson you taught us is how tender, honest, innocent commitment to a people first world, can change anyone.
Thank you for making my life better. I imagine you had that effect on everyone else who was lucky enough to meet you. Rest In Peace my dear friend - Family.

I worked with Marianne for many many years. She was always incredibly sweet and helpful. She was an amazing person who will be greatly missed. Our hearts are breaking over the loss of this sweet soul. My deepest condolences to her family and friends. We Will Miss You Marianne!
Marianne and I were friends as early as grade six. Kindness, peace, and genuine love came from every part of Marianne. I do recall one time when my parents were driving her home I looked over to say bye and to this day remember her warm smile, kind eyes and friendship as she said thank you and good bye. This memory was always there when I thought of Marianne, I think because her soul could warm anyone when she looked at you. That has never left me that image. We did lots of kid things, but her spirit is what shone through. Beautiful soul may you walk in peace and guide us all from above. My heart goes out to Bridgette, Dorothy, Steve, Carmen and everyone she touched.
I played hockey with Marianne and remember her as the glue that kept the team together. She was such a positive soul who you couldn’t help but want to be around. She was welcoming, kind, a great team player and a fierce defenceman. My heart breaks to hear of this news. This came too soon. My deepest condolences to Brigitte, her family and all her friends.
Marianne was my cousin. And she was so helpful when I had my first daughter. She was always checking in on us. Marianne and Steven were great to have around.
Though we did not see each other often over the years, she is my family and she will be missed.
We didn't know Marianne but are in-laws to her dad, Carmen. We extend our sympathy to all the family on your loss. It is difficult to lose a child and especially when so young. May your memories of Marianne bring. a smile to your face and peace in your heart.
Love,
Lloyd & Elaine Selk
