Condolences
June 5, 2021. Last night I had a dream and woke up realizing that Chuck was gone. My condolences to the family and prayers for comfort as you grieve. Elsie Montgomery (nee Leslie)
Lorraine, we were sorry to hear of Chuck’s passing. I found out through my niece who lives in Iowa and knows your granddaughter there. It was so nice to see you both at Marlene’s moms funeral in Lethbridge. We always remember our trip to Lake Tahoe when we were all in Reno as well as all the Simmental shows and sales. There are lots of great memories, Chuck was a big hearted guy, he will be missed. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

We are saddened to hear of Chuck’s passing. We will remember always his smile, his laugh, his great stories and his sage ‘advice’. We came to rely on the chains in his truck. Chuck cheerfully used them many a time to get us out of the drifting snow. Please accept our heartfelt condolences to you Lorraine and your family.

Deepest condolences to the Groeneveld family on the passing of Chuck. What a loss. As a kid growing up in the cattle barns Chuck was always a positive and motivating presence. His smile, sense of humour, and care for people are strong memories for me. So sorry for your loss. He will not be forgotten.

Lorraine and Family - my sincere condolences! My memories of Chuck are endless - when we worked together at the Calgary Stampede in Agriculture he was the Barn Boss during the 10-days and also during Bull Sale so we had many fun times. Always the promoter of the cattle industry, full of knowledge, stories, and laughter; Chuck was truly one of a kind! May you find comfort in family, friends, and all the great memories.

To Lorraine and family, my most sincere condolences on the loss of Chuck. There were never two people who could promote the beef industry like Chuck and you, Lorraine. He helped design many graphics for the Beef Education Association and the ABP Promotion Committee and had great ideas how to set up and run a trade show display. It was Chuck’s idea one year to have every person visiting the ABP display at the Calgary Stampede put a pin in a world map showing where they were visiting from. It was hugely popular, and Chuck loved visiting with each and every person. We will all miss him. Elaine Deeg
Our deepest sympathy Lorraine, Dean, Deanne and family. We have many fond memories of our times spent with Chuck whether at the Stampede, at family gatherings or in your home. Chuck was always welcoming and he was sure to give us a good laugh or two. We will miss him very much.
Margaret, Bruce, Brian, Neil and Lynn Tyacke
Our thoughts are with you, Lorraine and family. We were privileged to have known Chuck and to have been benefactors of his wit and wisdom. That smiling face and knowing grin are fondly imbedded in our memories. Joan and John Bednarik
Lorraine & family - My heart is heavy tonight upon hearing of the news of Chuck's passing...It may have been a couple of years since my last Stampede, but the memory of both of you, your laughter, and willingness to chat brings a smile to my lips and warmth throughout my being. How welcoming...how kind...and always with a joke and a comment - I'm glad that my last displays in Calgary were Chuck's last year as well. Aggie Days and Ag-tivity in the City would not have been the same had he not been there.
But more importantly, when we were struggling with our youngest, Chuck took her under his wing. He would call her 'my girl'; he would insist that she sit and chat with him; and he kept telling me, "she's a good girl. Just going through a tough patch..." Oh how l trusted and relaxed when she'd hang out with Chuck, and how much I appreciated the gift of time, patience and caring he shared with my family. And when I tried to say 'thank you', he simply shrugged it off - "no thanking to be done. I enjoy her company." We certainly enjoyed your company Chuck! Hugs from a distance Lorraine. Simone Demers Collins (the canola lady from back then...)
Wii always remember times with Chuck at beef promotion committee meetings. The smell of roast beef coming from the Alberta beef promotion booth at trade fairs, and the common sense approach Chuck always had with committee decisions.
Condolences to Lorraine and family.

Lorraine, sending my sincerest condolences to you and your family at this difficult time.
Chuck has left quite a legacy; one being the best 4-H Leader anyone could ask for.
He will be missed, but never forgotten.
Carla Elfring (Sewell)
SIncere condolences to Chuck's family and friends. Chuck was a great friend and neighbour of my family (my parents David & Connie Hunt of DeWinton), and he was incredibly active and supportive in the 4-H beef clubs, and of course the cattle industry at large. He will be missed.
Tony and I met Chuck in 1988 when we first moved to Alberta and I began working at the Calgary Stampede in the Ag Dept. What a privilege it has been to cross paths with Chuck. Many great memories - the Stampede parties (at the ranch and in the barns), Calgary Bull Sale, ABP booth visits through the years and even turkey sales! Chuck was a great man and will be missed. Sending our condolences to Lorraine and family.
We would be hard pressed to find, anywhere, someone else who had as much fun with life and people than Chuck did. His passion for the beef industry and the pure joy he found in talking to all, was unmatched. From having Chuck judge my Hereford steer at 4-H on Parade, to having him watch and comment on our children showing at 4-H on Parade , judge (in tandem with Stacey) the kids' Simmental animals in Strathmore, to attending our surprise anniversary party last year, it truly does feel like Chuck has always been in my life. Pity to anyone who never really got to know him. They missed out on a wonderful and truly unique experience in life. Sincere condolences to Lorraine and the rest of the family. We will miss him.

Truly a great man who had such a positive attitude and fun loving way of life. So many accolades could be said of Chuck as so many would agree. Such a pleasure knowing Chuck.
