Obituary of Mary Ethna HARVEY

December 20, 1932 – Lurgan, Northern Ireland January 20, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta Ethna Harvey, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the age of 85 years. Mom was born in Lurgan, Northern Ireland on December 20th, 1932. She immigrated to Ontario, Canada in 1953. The family moved to Ragistan, India for two years in 1969. She joined The New Comers Club when she moved to Calgary in 1972 where she made many lifelong friends. She belonged to the ladies golf league at the Mapleridge golf course for many years. She played bridge with a group of ladies for decades. Ethna and Peter enjoyed numerous events at The Royal Canadian Legion, branch 285 for many years. Ethna cooked many Sunday and holiday dinners for the family. Ethna is survived by her son, Michael (Wendy); daughter, Janet (Don); grandchildren, Daniel, Kyle and Amanda & great-grandson Walter (the little guy); and common-law partner, George Green. She was predeceased by her husband, Peter Harvey in 2000. As per Ethna’s wishes, there will be no formal service, so please take a minute to remember a happy time with her.
