Obituary of Floyd Melvin THOMPSON

November 24, 1944 – Trochu, Alberta
November 11, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with unmeasurable sadness and heartbreak that Floyd’s family announces his passing. He was 75 years young.

After a long hard battle with many health issues, he fought to the end with strength beyond compare, pride and dignity, before he took his final rest on November 11, 2020.

Floyd was an outstanding husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. He remained positive throughout his battle and inspired many around him to do the same.

He will be greatly missed and his memory treasured by all who knew him.

Floyd is survived by the love of his life, Denise; and her extended family, sisters, Betty (Robin) and Rosemary; his children, Leora, Neil (Marina); grandchildren, Virginia, Juliana and Mariela. Also left to grieve his loss is his stepchildren, Michael Forsyth (Cheryl), grandchildren, Ellen (Devin) and Emma; Melanie Forsyth (Dan) and grandchildren, Brodie and Ruby.  

Floyd was predeceased by his son Michael John Thompson in July 2016. 

A celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2021 at Floyd and Denise’s lake house in the Kootenays, a place which they both dearly loved. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Floyd Thompson’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
