Obituary of Geoff Eustace BOARDMAN

Geoff Eustace Boardman, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at the age of 94 years.

 

Geoff lived a remarkable life. He left his home in India in the 1950’s to create a new life in Britain with his wife Joan. They later immigrated to Calgary in 1956. Once in Canada, Geoff took up employment with Dominion Bridge Company, where he worked until retirement. Geoff contributed to notable landmarks in Calgary, including the Devonian Gardens, Elvedon House, Stampede Grand Stand and the Glenbow Museum.

 

Some of Geoff's favourite pastimes included cricket, golf, tennis, badminton, hiking and camping with friends and family. Together with Joan and his family, Geoff explored the Canadian landscape from coast to coast.

 

Geoff is survived by his wife Joan Ellen and their three sons, Christopher (Jeannie) Trevor and Geoffrey (Kyla and her child Sonny); and granddaughter Talia.

 

At the request of Geoff, there will be no memorial service. Memorial tributes, however, may be made directly to The Venturers Society of Calgary, C/O Fish Creek Provincial Park, Box 2780, Calgary, AB, T2P 2M7, where Geoff’s son Trevor has worked for 33 years.
