Obituary of Janet SMALL

January 3, 1959 – January 9, 2018 With deep sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Janet Small. Janet took her last breath at home in the presence of loved ones after an eight month battle with brain cancer. Janet was a loving wife, mother and friend. She genuinely loved every person she encountered; giving of herself to serve, encourage and uplift others. She had a gift of making you feel like the most important person in the world. She also passionately enjoyed golf, sewing, camping, visiting Hawaii and spending time with her family. As a professional teacher she touched many young lives and dedicated the later part of her career to bring international students to Canada. As a family we have peace knowing that she is enjoying eternity in paradise with Jesus whom she loved and trusted with her whole heart. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of thirty-six years, Greg Small; children, Katheryn (Channing) Plaza, David (Kate) Small and Richard Small; grandchild Elliot Plaza and her mother Louise Gibson. She was predeceased by her brother John Gibson and father James Gibson. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael Catholic Community (800 – 85th Street S.W., Calgary, AB) on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the Funeral Home.
