Daryl McCONNELL

Obituary of Daryl James McCONNELL

August 9, 1979 – North Bay, Ontario
November 20, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that the McConnell/ Deschner family announce the sudden passing of Daryl McConnell, of Calgary, AB, on Friday, November 20, 2020 at the age of 41 years.

Daryl loved his children and parents unconditionally and loved to spend as much time with them as possible.  He loved to work on his vehicle and build stereos with his son and to make bracelets and bake with his daughter.  He was very artistic and created works of art for his children and parents and he could build anything. Having no experience did not stop him from building a fence around his mom and dad’s house. His favourite holiday to decorate was Halloween and he would spend days decorating the yard for his children and the children of the neighbourhood. Daryl loved the outdoors whether it be camping or gardening.

We will all miss Daryl’s quick smile, his laugh and his sense of humour.

Daryl is survived by his son Evan McConnell and daughter Ashley McConnell; his parents, Joanne and Tony Deschner; nephew Daryan Cayenne-McConnell (Kit-Kat Chubbie Cheeks), and brother Rodney. He was predeceased by his ex-wife Rhonda Bollinger-McConnell.

A graveside memorial will be held for Daryl later in 2021 at Queen’s Park Cemetery.  All are welcome depending on any restrictions for CoVid-19.  Details will be posted on this page and on the Facebook pages of Joanne and of Tony at a later date. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Daryl’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.

In Lieu of flowers the McConnell/Deschner family kindly ask that memorial tributes be made directly to the Canadian Mental Health Association, 105, 1040 – 7 Avenue SW, Calgary, AB, T2P 3G9, www.cmha.calgary.ab.ca
