Obituary of Albert John TARSIUK

October 26, 1926 – January 6, 2018 We said goodbye to our one-of-a-kind Dad who passed away peacefully in the early hours of January 6, 2018 in Calgary, Alberta at a young age of 91. We rejoice that he is reunited with our Mother in the presence of God. Albert was born in Hythe, Alberta to John and Mary Tarsiuk and was the eldest son of six children: Winnie, Ruby, Esther, Elizabeth and Lot (Bill). He was an avid hunter, hard worker, and loved all things in nature particularly his horses. He met and married Gladys Omlid, a new local teacher, and moved to Grande Prairie. He started Bert’s Concrete and poured cement in foundations in new homes, then he went on to form Square T Contractors putting in seismic lines for the oil companies in Northern Alberta for several years. Around this time he earned his pilots license and often would take family members on “leisurely” flights. A new position with the pulp mill relocated Albert and his family to Prince George, B.C., and lived there for Twelve years before settling in Calgary during their retirement years. He leaves to mourn his passing, his children, Terry Tarsiuk (Loreli); Sharon Jorgenson; Brenda Lang (Bryan); Loretta Wall (Kent); son-in-law Ken Roberts; sister Ruby Fair and brother BIll Tarsiuk (Guro); grandchildren, Justin Tarsiuk (Kristen); Alissa Tarsiuk; Nicole Roberts; Britton Roberts (Amanda); Aaron Lang; Kristyn Lang; Nathan Wall and Brittany Wall; and two great grandsons Rocco Tarsiuk and Carrick Roberts. Albert was predeceased by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Gladys, daughter Debbie Roberts (Ken) and son-in-law Lewis Jorgenson. Private family service and interment to be done in Lymburn, Alberta. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In loving memory of Albert Tarsiuk, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary, AB Telephone: 403-256-9575.
