Obituary of Charles (Ted) Edward Arthur EAID

August 3, 1934 – Jarvis, Ontario
November 24, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our Father, Ted Eaid on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at the age of 86 after a difficult and heartbreaking battle with COVID-19.

Dad was a kind and gentle person who always had good things to say about others. He was a proud 25 year veteran of the Canadian Air Force. Throughout his career, he was stationed at various military bases across Canada and the U.S. Dad had many fond memories of his time in the service. Mom and Dad settled in Calgary in 1980 to become the first franchisee owners for Tim Horton's in the city (Store No. 124). They always made every customer feel at home. In his retirement, Dad enjoyed golfing, bowling, and he loved taking his golf cart out in the evenings to collect stray golf balls. He was incredibly handy and could build or fix anything you put in front of him. Dad took pride in caring for his lawn, and if he wasn't inside watching sports on TV, you could find him outside watering the grass. In his later years, Dad looked forward to playing cards with Nancy and Richard every Sunday. Although out hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that Dad is at peace. He will be deeply missed by all of us and we will carry his memory in our hearts.

Ted is the beloved father of Ann Flanagan (Andy), Dale (Diana), and Nancy (Richard); the cherished grandfather of Ryan (Emily), Sean (Pamela), Matthew (Emily), Kate (Mason), TJ, and Tucker; and proud great-grandpa to Indie May. He will be terribly missed by his sister Marjorie Hunt.

Ted was preceded in death by his loving wife and partner of 54 years June in 2013, his sister Bette Bolton in 2011, and his parents, Robert and Grace Eaid.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all the doctors and especially the nurses who took such good care of Dad during his time at the Rockyview General Hospital (Unit 93).

A Celebration of Life with the family will take place at a future date.

Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Ted’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
