Obituary of David Bruce QUAINTANCE

August 31, 1953 – Calgary, Alberta
December 4, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

David Bruce Quaintance of Calgary, Alberta passed away due to heart failure at the age of 67 on Friday, December 4, 2020.

Those closest to him will remember a man who was loving, caring, generous, inquisitive, and humorous, and to whom social justice, human rights, and community were paramount. He treasured the camaraderie and friendships which arose from stopping pucks for over 25 years of shinny with the Rehabs, Sandy T’s boys of summer, and others. He understood the fundamental importance of books and the printed word, and was always glad to recommend a good read or pass on his copy for others to enjoy. As a Big Lebowski admirer, he abided while living and now, the dude has transcended. He was loved and will never be forgotten.

He is survived by his loving wife Karen Smith, sisters Vicki, Robyn, and Elle, and several nieces and nephews.

David’s request for no funeral or memorial service will be honoured. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on David’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to The Calgary Humane Society, 4455 – 110th Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB  T2C 2T7, Telephone: (403) 205-4455, www.calgaryhumane.ca.

In his living memory, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area.
